Developing Confidence in Creative Therapeutic Practice

  • Michelles counselling and Training Online Event (map)

Sometimes words are not enough.

Clients may struggle to express painful experiences, overwhelming emotions or parts of themselves that feel difficult to put into language. Creative approaches can provide alternative ways of exploring thoughts, feelings and experiences, helping clients develop greater awareness, emotional regulation and self-understanding.

This workshop explores how creative approaches can be integrated safely, ethically and thoughtfully into contemporary counselling practice. Rather than focusing on artistic ability, we will consider how creativity can support the therapeutic relationship, deepen understanding and facilitate emotional expression while remaining responsive to each client's individual needs.

Together we will explore when creative interventions may be helpful, when they may not be appropriate, and how to introduce them in ways that are collaborative, trauma-informed and ethically grounded.
